Bringing Back the Livestock Population

New dairies are bringing dairy cattle back to areas which previously had much larger cattle populations.

Putnam County, Ohio was home to over 10,000 milk cows and heifers in 1958. Since then, the county's dairy population has dwindled to less than 3,000 milk cows and heifers.

The development of new dairies in Fulton, Henry, and Putnam counties gives a boost to livestock population and rural economic development.
